Curated and conducted by David Hayes, this program juxtaposes Baroque and Pre-Classical music with works inspired by this period, offering a fresh perspective—like old wine in new bottles. Anchored by Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 and C.P.E. Bach’s Symphony in D Major, the program contrasts these masterpieces with works from the early 20th c.—Respighi’s Gli Uccelli and Richard Strauss’ Dance Suite after Couperin—compositions that were inspired by Baroque keyboard music. Known for his inventive programming, David Hayes pairs unexpected works to invite audiences to experience the thrill of discovery and
