Yoshihiko Nakano, Viola
Yoshihiko Nakano is a member of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra. He also performs frequently as a substitute violist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. His previous orchestral engagements include rotating principal viola of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Juilliard Orchestra and associate principal viola of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. He has also enjoyed many performances as a soloist, including appearances with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and the Juilliard Orchestra.
Mr. Nakano received his B.M. in violin performance from Northwestern University under Almita Vamos while taking up the viola with Roland Vamos. He went on to study the viola at the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music where his primary teachers were Michael Tree and Roberto Diaz.
