The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia with Music Director Dirk Brossé opens the 2017/2018 Improvisionaries season with the invigorating sounds of old and new. Hear world renowned Norwegian Trumpeter, Tine Thing Helseth, as she performs Haydn’s stunning Trumpet Concerto in Eb. Academy Award winning composer, Elliot Goldenthal, will premiere his For Trumpet and Strings especially for Helseth, with improvised cadenzas. Showcasing the Chamber Orchestra sound, COP will perform one of Mozart’s most beloved symphonies, Paris. This season opener is only the beginning to a jaw dropping year of Improvisionaries.
